It wasn't supposed to be me!
For starters, I'm not a writer, but someone very special to me was, and if she were alive today, I am sure I would be cheering her on in support of her blog. However, because she did not get the pleasure of doing so, I decided to pick up the torch to continue what she only dreamed of doing. Long story short, I had a speech impediment that made me the subject of verbal abuse because of it, which in turn made me believe I was dumb. My siblings and I were raised by my aunt and uncle, who had their own children. Till this day, I can truly say that not one time did my aunt try to make a difference, and later in life, I found out it was a simple procedure that could have been done to correct the speech impediment. This is part of why it was not supposed to be me! will continue the story in next blog!!!
